BAXTER – Funeral services for Daisy Allan, 90, a lifelong resident of Baxter, were held today, Feb. 25, at the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ.

The Rev. Darrell Bailey, pastor of the church, conducted services and burial was in Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Memorials may be left at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.

Miss Allan died Friday at the Iowa Methodist Medical center in Des Moines.

Survivors are three brothers James, John and Earl, all of Baxter; and a sister, Bessie Flora of Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Miss Allan was a member of the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ and a 50year member of the Baxter Order of Easter Star.

The daughter of John and Janet Gallaway Allan, she was born April 12, 1900 at Baxter and was a 1918 graduate of Baxter Community High School.

She attended Drake University in Des Moines in 1919 and 1920 and taught school from 1920 until 1930.

She resided on the family farm west of Baxter all her life. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 25 Feb 1991.
