Mrs. Ed Thomas Dies After Long Illness

Passed Away Wednesday Morning at her Home in Colfax

Mrs. Ed Thomas, long time resident of this vicinity, passed away at her home here about 9:45 Wednesday morning. She has been in failing health for the past three years, but her decline has been more rapid since the death of her husband last May. She was past eight years of age.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. J. E. Kemerling of Cleveland, O., Mrs. Frank Clifford of Quealy, Wyo., Mrs. Ruth Traister of Des Moines, Mrs. William Wilson of Beason, Mrs. Thomas Toy of Lafayette, Colo., two sons, Jack Thomas of Des Moines, and Edward Thomas of Springfield, Mo., and the grandson, William Thomas, whom they raised.

Not having received word from the children in distant cities, funeral arrangements have not been completed. Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral of Mrs. Ed Thomas, Saturday afternoon at the Baptist Church, were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thomas and son Phillip and Mrs. John Abram of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. J. E. Kemerling of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Frank Clifford of Quealy, Wyoming, Mrs. Thomas Toy of Lafayette, Colo., Mrs. William Wilson and son Howard, Mrs. Elsie McWilliams and Mrs. And Mrs. Charles Wilson of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Ruth Traister, Mrs. Mildred Hassett, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thomas and sons, Lyle, John and Burt, Edward Thomas and Miss Amelia Thomas, Miss Gladys Mansfield, Mrs. James Sage, Mrs. Mary Ellen Damerville, Mrs. Henry Richardson, Miss Jewell Fitzgerald and Fred Thomas of Des Moines, and Mrs. Thompson and daughter of Newton.
