Madalyn Thompson Former Newton Resident Dies

Mrs. Madalyn L. Thompson, 66, of Grinnell, a former resident of Newton, died Sunday evening at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Jeannie) Faidley of Brooklyn; three grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. J. R. Burr of Omaha, Neb.; and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Draper of Omaha, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Mrs. Thompson had been employed as a motel clerk in Grinnell for 8 years and in the maintenance department of Grinnell College for 9 years.

The daughter of Glen and Sarah Rippetoe Hays, she was born Mar. 12, 1911 at Newton and attended Newton Community High School. ~ Newspaper unknown, Wed 1 June 1977.
