Roy "Mike" Conn

Roy "Mike" Conn, 71, of 506 E. 16th St. N., a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died this morning, Jan. 10, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11. Visitation with family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contribution may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Myrtle; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Peggy) Gammon of Collinsville, Ill., and Mrs. Steve (Patty) Hollenbeck and Mrs. David (Pam) Schnathorst, both of Newton; seven grandchildren; a brother, George Conn of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two sisters, Mrs. Perry (Grace) Northcutt and Mrs. L. T. (Marian) Baker, both of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William, and a sister, Peggy.

Mr. Conn, a member of the First Lutheran Church, Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and Maytag 25-Year Club, was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Conn had been employed at the Maytag Co. for 40 years until his retirement.

The son of David W. and Ida Mae Zahn Conn, he was born Sept. 6, 1913 in Palo Alto Township.

He was married to Myrtle Mae Gregory Oct. 11, 1942 in Unionville, Mo.
