Relatives received word that Geo. Lewis died at the hospital at Boise, Idaho, December 22, 1930. His home was at Council, Idaho for many years. His wife and daughter Orril, who is a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, survive.

Mr. Lewis was past 70 years of age. He was born here near the harsh school house and spent his early life on the farm. He worked for years for the late Ezekiel Jones, who owned the farm that is now the E. E. Southern home, west of Ira. He went west some forty years ago but often visited here and kept in touch with the people. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Dec 1930.

Mrs. Nelle Sadler Butterbaugh of Manson, Washington, writes friends that all are well and had a good crop of apples on their ranch in 1930.

She told of the death of George Lewis, who would be 81 in February 1931.

Mr. Lewis stayed 14 yars at the home of Mrs. Butterbaugh's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Jones, near Ira. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Jan 1931
