Richard Anspach Died Monday in Chicago

Death Came to Son of Dr. and Mrs. Anspach after Mastoid Operation

Richard Anspach, only son of Dr. and Mrs.
W. E. Anspach of Chicago died about 1 o’clock Monday morning, January 18th, following an operation which had been performed Saturday.

While visiting here with his mother, at the R. G. Anspach home, during the holidays, he became ill and complained of pain in his ear, which later broke. After returning home he became worse and the 9th of January he underwent a mastoid operation at the Children’s Hospital in Chicago. For a few days he was better and the last of the week further complications resulted which necessitated a second operation, which was performed Saturday. All that could be was done, but the life spark was too weak to combat the poison in his system, and it flickered out in the early morning.

Although he had been frail since baby hood the past year and a half he had improved and it was thought he now would enjoy better health.

He would have been eight years old had he lived until the 19th of May.

The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community, who also loved little Richard, who was born here and who won the hearts of all.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 o’clock, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Sykes at Ida Grove. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Jan 1932.
