He was a progressive farmer while a young man and after retiring took an active interest in the managementof his land. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was ever interested in all that was for the good of his community.

He was united in marriage to Emma Baker at Mingo, Feb. 16th, 1873.

Since the death of his wife three years ago, he has made his home with his nephew, L. B. Everett of Colfax.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Morgan Miller of Zanesville, Ohio, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Mingo Church with Rev. H. D. Simmons officiating. Interment will be at the Greencastle Cemetery. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Tues Sept 24, 1936.
