Horace P. Lockhart

COLFAX, Iowa – Private graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, at Colfax Cemetery for Horace P. Lockhart, 89, of Colfax.

Mr. Lockhart died of heart failure at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Thursday, Oct. 2.

The don of Dr. E. G and Mary Taylor Lockhart, he was born Jan. 31, 1908 in St. Charles.

He married Margaret Morris, Nov. 28, 1930 in Vinton.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Diane and Larry Hansel Gannon of Colfax and Margo and Dave Edwards of Mitchellville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Wilburn of West Palm Beach, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Mr. Lockhart war tired as a district manager for Northwestern Bell. He was a member of the Colfax Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Lions club and Kiwanis club. He also was a past Scout Master.

Memorials may be made to the Colfax Presbyterian Church or the Colfax Senor Citizens organization.
