Former Colfax Woman Passed Away Sat.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Claud H. McLaughlin Held Tuesday

Mrs. Claud H. McLaughlin, of Des Moines, a former Colfax girl, passed away Oct. 10th, at the early age of 34 years, following an illness of several years.

Funeral services were conducted from the Colfax Christian Church, Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. L. C. McDonald in charge of the services. Burial was made at the Prairie City Cemetery.

Mary May Main, daughter of Lewis and Mary E. Main, was born at Prairie City, Iowa, December 8, 1896, and departed this life October 10th, 1931, at Clarinda, Iowa, age 34 years, 10 months and 2 days.

Mamie, as she was known to her friends, was the youngest of a family of seven children. She grew to womanhood in the community about Prairie City and Colfax. For a number of years she has been in poor health and all was done for her that friends could do.

She was united in marriage to Claud H. McLaughlin of Des Moines, on April 10th, 1922. Mamie was a girl of sterling quality and always had a host of friends in the communities where she lived. She united with the Methodist Church in Colfax in 1917, later transferring her membership to the Christian Church in Des Moines.

She leaves to mourn her going, her husband, who lives in Des Moines; her father, Lewis Main of Colfax; three sisters, Mrs. George Kaldenberg of Redsburg, Wis., Mrs. W. R. ward of Des Moines, Mrs. R. C. Cross of Colfax; three brothers, Emory main of Grand Meadow, Minn.; Louis e. and Clarence Main, both of Colfax, together with other relatives and a host of friends. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 15 Oct 1931.
