KILLDUFF – Funeral services for William E. Jones, 80, 9730 1st Ave., Box 532, Killduff, a longtime resident of Killduff, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.
The Rev. Mike Johnson, pastor of the Kellogg Christian Church, will conduct services.
Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials in his name will be accepted.
Mr. Jones died of a heart attack Monday evening at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille Teresa; two sons, Keith Clayton and Clyde James, both of Newton; two daughters, Judy Carrol Montgomery of Newton and Linda Ruth Smith of Killduff; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, C. Ray, Blaine and Robert, all of Newton, and Oren of Colfax and a sister, Mildred Barrow of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Bishop, and a grandson, Jason Alan Jones.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church and the Richland Grange.
Formerly employed in maintenance at the Maytag Co., he retired Dec. 31, 1977.
The son of Edgar Blaine and Luella Irene Downs Jones, he was born Jan. 16, 1915 in Mitchellville.
He was married to Lucille Teresa Peercy June 29, 1940 in Newton.
He resided in Mitchellville before moving to Killduff more than 40 years ago.
