Carrie Blanford Dies Sunday; Rites Wednesday

COLFAX - Mrs. Charles (Carrie Eldora) Blanford, 89, a lifelong resident of Colfax, died Sunday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of the Colfax Christian Church, will conduct services. Burial wil be in the Hazelwood Cemetry in Grinnell.

Survivors are two sons, Glenn A. of Waterloo and Royal Dean of Ames; two daughters, Mrs. Gretchen Cole of Colfax and Mrs. Elmer (Mary) Robson of Dike; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husand Feb. 19, 1961.

The daughter of Scott and Belinda Slaughter, she was born Oct. 15, 1886 at Colfax.

She was married Sept. 20, 1905 in Newton. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa 5 Apr 1976.
