Carl E. Louden Rites Saturday

NEWBURG - Funeral services or Carl E. Louden, 93, prominent Newburg area farmer, will be held at 1(?) o'clock Saturday morning at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The Rev. Philip J. Ramstad, pastor of the Grinnell Congregational United Church of Christ, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Members of Hermon Masonic Lodge No. 273 AF and AM of Grinnell will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 o'clock Friday evening at Smith Funeral HOme. Mr. Louden was a Mason for more than 70 years.

Memorial contributions to the Grinnell General Hospital will be accepted.

Mr. Louden died Wednesday at the Grinnell General Hospital.

Mr. Louden was known nationally as a raiser of purebred Duroc hogs. He farmed in the Hickory Grove Township from 1913 until his retirement in 1942. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa 22 Sept 1977.
