Herbert J. Mulder, age 85 of Pella, formerly of Parkersburg, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Hospice of Pella, Comfort House. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place on Friday, May 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dordt College and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Henry and Katherine (Allspach) Mulder, Herb was born on September 10, 1929, in Parkersburg, Iowa. On July 16, 1954, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Primus in Wellsburg, Iowa. Herb worked at Viking Pump in Cedar Falls for 30 years and also farmed. He was a member of the Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church, where he served as a Deacon and an Elder. After he and Marge moved to Prairie City, they joined the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. Herb's greatest love was for his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Marge; children, Douglas Mulder of Kieler, Wisconsin, Milton (Carol) Mulder of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Donna (Rienco) DeJong of Goleta, California, Susan (Mike) Halma of Sioux Center, Iowa, Brenda (Duane) Brandhof of Mitchellville, Iowa, John (Rebecca) Mulder of Hermantown, Minnesota, Phil (Fran) Mulder of Redlands, California, Lori (Russ) Natelborg of Prairie City; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Harley (Pauline) Mulder of Cutlerville, Michigan, Robert Mulder of Grand Rapids, Michigan, George (Judy) Mulder of Waterloo, Iowa and Katherine Nagle of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Preceding Herb in death were his parents, one brother, Richard Mulder; one sister, Lorraine Nolte; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Mulder and Delores Mulder and two brothers-in-law, Harley Nolte and Richard Nagle. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 11 May 2015.
