March 23, 1947 - May 13, 2015

Dennis L. Conn, age 68 of Altoona, died peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at The Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will follow at the Colfax Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to The Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Edward and Sylvia (Elscott) Conn, Dennis was born on March 23, 1947 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Dennis was drafted into the Marine Corps in 1967. He served in the Vietnam War.

On December 1, 1972 Dennis was united in marriage to Cynthia Sparks. Dennis worked most of his life in printing, later worked at the Monroe Co. in Colfax. Dennis enjoyed building street rods, working on cars, working in the yard, listening to country music, and working at his golf cart business. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 42 years, Cindy; children Dana (James) Jarvis of Des Moines, Jennifer (Matt) Oswalt of Altoona, Stephanie Conn (Blake Swihart) of Prairie City; 5 grandchildren, Lindsey (Aaron) Perrin of Newton, Lukas Roam of Des Moines, Sabrina and Alexis Reed of Prairie City, Colby Oswalt of Altoona; and a great granddaughter, Arienette Ann Perrin.
