Eli Orlich, age 87 of Colfax, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center - Monarch Wing in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Assembly of God Church in Colfax, with burial following at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home. The family will greet family and friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Jasper County and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Mecha (Mike) and Mary (Banjac) Orlich, Eli was born on June 27, 1924 in Colfax. Eli served in the United States Army Police Unit during WWII and was involved in the Japanese Theater clean up. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Foshe` at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on October 14, 1950. They owned and operated LeSoeurs Ceramics for many years in Des Moines. Eli enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting.

Those left to honor his memory include his two sons, Jeff (Sherri) Orlich and Craig Orlich of Colfax; two step grandchildren, Megan Trotter and Joshua Danley; four step great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Avah, Lily, and Emmy as well as two brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Bonnie, siblings, Mike Orlich, George Orlich, Mary Stanich, Dorothy Warren, Jenny Orlich, Minnie Kappelman and Anna Snetselaar.
