Betty Newell

Betty Lee Newell, 63, of Boca Raton, Fla., and a former Newton resident, died March 14 at her home.

Her funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. The body has been cremated and burial will be at Newton Memorial Park.

Survivors include a son, Clifford Newell, Mrs. Jeffrey (Linda) Phipps of Boca Raton; four greandchildren and her mother, Mrs. Ada Sapp of Newton.

Mrs. Newell was a member of the Methodist church in Florida.

The daughter of Adrian and Ada Murphy Sapp, she was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Alma, Kans. She was educated in Alma and Newton.

She lived in Newton for 50 years, and lived in Florida four years. She was married to Paul Newell. ~ Probably Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, Thursday, March 21, 1955.
