The sad news was received last Friday noon of the death of Ben Vaughan, at Rock Island. He was on his way home from Chicago and in some unknown way was instantly killed by the cars. His body was bought home on No. 3, Saturday morning. A large crowd had assembled at the depot, where they reviewed the remains. They then went to the cemetery, where the funeral was conducted by the Revs. Martin, Collins and Brandt. It was a sad blow to his relatives and friends.
