Former Jasper County Resident Dies In Illinois
LAUREL – Word has been received by Mrs. Ira Ingraham, of Laurel, of the death Saturday afternoon of her uncle, Elmer Richter, of Freeport, Illinois.
Following a brief service in Freeport this afternoon, the body will be brought to Marshalltown, and a service will be held at the St. Johns Evangelical church northwest of Newton at three o’clock. Burial will be made in the cemetery there.
Mr. Richter was born in Germany 69 years ago, coming to Iowa at the age of fourteen. He made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Seidschneiter, early settlers of Jasper county, and married a daughter of that family. For the past ten years he had made his home in Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and is survived by a son, Alfred, of Tennan, Wis.
