Levi H. Kanne Dies at Baxter
Long-Life Resident Of Baxter Dies; Tuesday; Funeral Services Friday
BAXTER – Levi H. Kanne, 70, died Tuesday evening at his home two miles east of Baxter following a prolonged illness.
Funeral services will be held at one o’clock Friday at the Boyd funeral home, followed by a service at two o’clock at the Bethany Reformed church. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. The Rev. D. E. Bosma will be in charge.
Mr. Kanne was born in Malaka township, Jasper county, Feb. 17, 1868, the son of Henry and Louisa (Paul) Kanne. He spent his entire life on the home place near Baxter.
He was a member of the Bethany Reformed church of Baxter, and was known as a very successful business man and stock farmer.
On June 24, 1896, he was united in marriage to Mattie Harre, and to this union two children were born, Clarence, who lives on the farm with his father, and Mrs. Aleta Hertzog, of Baxter.
He is survived by the two children; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Alleman, Mrs. Louisa Krampe, Mrs. Sophia Saak, Mrs. Lydia Tinnemeier, and Mrs. Martha Saak, and one brother, Lou Kanne.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother.
