Death Calls C. L. Good Former Colfax Man
Funeral Services Held From Colfax M. E. church Sunday
Funeral services for C. L. Good were held Sunday afternoon from the Colfax Methodist church, with Rev. W. H. Blancke of Newton in charge assisted by Rev. L. C. McDonald of Colfax.
Mr. Good was a former resident of Colfax and Mingo, going to Newton some 17 years ago, where he had been employed at the Maytag factory.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Beard of Mingo, and Mrs. Annie Hurd, of Diagonal, Iowa; three sons, J. W. Good and Joe Good of Newton, and Charles Good of Mingo. Mrs. Good preceded him in death in 1930.
Six fellow workers from the Maytag factory acted as pall bearers. Burial was made in the Highland Cemetery.
The I.O.O.F. service was held at the grave with Rodger Mead, N.G. and S. C. Paschal, chaplain. Mr. Pascal read the following obituary:
Brother C. L. Good was initiated into the order at Mingo, Iowa, October 16th 1912. On March 8th, 1921, Mingo lodge consolidated with Colfax lodge No. 476. Brother Good moved to Newton, where he worked in the Maytag factory for a number of years, until his health would not permit.
He retained his membership in Colfax lodge until his death.
He was loyal to his obligations to the order until the last.
Next to his family was his lodge, the lodge loses a loyal member, the community a good citizen and neighbor and his children, a loving father.
