Fred Minear Dies Sunday; Rites Tuesday
NEWBURG – Fred Minear, 89, of 607 5th Ave., Grinnell, resident of the Newburg community from 1931 until 1948, died Sunday at the Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
The Rev. Gary Jensen, pastor of the Grinnell Seventh Day Adventist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Survivors are three sons, Guy of Livonia, Mo., Loyd of Grinnell and Rex of Malcom; two daughters, Mrs. Ardie (Jettie) Anderson of Grinnell and Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) Englebarts of Malcom; 1_ grandchildren; and a brother, Johnnie of Livonia, Mo., and 1_ great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Aug. 26, 1971, a great grandson; and 10 brothers and sisters.
The son of John and Sara Fowler Minear, he was born Aug. 18, 1883 in Livonia, Mo.
He was married to Martha Ann Carpenter Nov. 15, 1905 in Unionville, Mo.
