Conduct Rites For Mrs. Boot
Funeral Services Held Saturday at Methodist Episcopal Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Charles H. Boot, 54, were conducted from the Methodist Episcopal church Saturday at 2 p.m. by the pastor, Dr. Leslie B. Logan.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Logan and Mrs. Fred Reeve, who sang, “Some Day the Silver Cord Will Break” and “Nearer Still Nearer.” Lois Hundling played the organ accompaniment.
Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: A. H. Gray, Bert Bennett, Charles Streepy, Dee Couper, Fred Byerly and Arthur Paget. Mrs. Roy Firman, Mrs. A. H. Gray and Mrs. A. W. Griffin were in charge of the flowers.
Mrs. Boot died Thursday at the Skiff Memorial hospital as the result of a stroke, suffered Monday, Oct. 7.
She was an active worker in the Newton Methodist Episcopal church and a member of the Dexter, Ia., Royal Neighbor lodge.
Surviving relatives are her husband, four children, Clarence of London Mills, Ill., Mrs. Russ Housley of Kent, Ia., Howard of Des Moines and Rollin of Newton, and a sister, Mrs. Newton Thompson of Los Angeles, Calif.
