W. Dow Dies At Killduff

N. Webb Dow, 47-year old farmer of near Killduff, died at the Skiff Memorial hospital at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. He had been in poor health for several years, the direct cause of his death being ulcers of the stomach.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. at the home Sunday afternoon and at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Andreas Lutheran church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.

Born in Poole, Nebr., on June 27, 1891, he lived there until 21 years of age when he came to Jasper county and settled near Galesburg. After living there for a year, employment was secured at the Denniston and Partridge company in Newton for the next three years.

On Jan. 26, 1915, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Fisher and the couple took up farming near Killduff where they have lived since. He was a member of the St. Andreas Lutheran Church.

Three children born to the couple are Naomi, Rhea Ver Jean and Donna Jean. Surviving also are his widow, his mother, Mrs. Sarah Dow, a sister, Mrs. Adam Malfield of State Center and a brother, Ira of Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. B. Dow in Dec. 1938. ~ The Newton Daily News, June 9, 1939.
