Called To The Last Rest
Reuben A. Scheffers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Govart Scheffers, was born April 28, 1887, passed away December 8, 1918, age thirty-one years, seven months and twenty-three days.
His death resulted from pneumonia which followed influenza.
Everything was done that loving hands could do but of no avail.
He united with the Methodist church a few years ago and was an earnest believer in Christ and although we miss him we feel he has only gone before to wait his loved ones.
He was a faithful husband and a loving father. He leaves many friends to mourn his loss. He is survived by his wife, Ruby, two daughters, Helen, age seven, Ruth, age two and one son Everett, age four, his mother Mrs. Jane Scheffers, four sisters Mrs. Jack Curry, Mrs. Chester Huckabay, Mrs. Ted Jenkins and Mrs. Edgar Warner all residing at Prairie City, three brothers, John of Prairie City, Will of Coon Rapids, and Fred of Pella.
