Laura Boss
Laura Anne Stock was born in Newton, Jasper Co. Iowa, on June 5, 1876, and passed away at her home in Brentford on March 22, 1920, aged 43 years, 9 months, and 17 days.
When sixteen years of age she united with the Christian church and kept her church relation until the time of her death. On March 18, 1896, she was united in marriage to Jonas Sinclair, and to this union seven children were born, two children, Earl and Geraldine, dying in early childhood.
On Nov. 20, 1916, Mr. Sinclair passed away and was laid to rest in the cemetery at Brentford, SD, where the family was then residing.
Mrs. Sinclair kept the boys together, making their home in Brentford, where on April 5, 1919, she was married to Peter Boss of that place and with whom she lived happily until the time of her death.
Mrs. Boss was a Chistian woman, a loving and devoted mother, and her death leaves a vacancy which can never be filled.
The community mourns with the husband and children in the loss of their loved one, and the sincerest sympathy is extended to the mother, Mrs. S. J. Stock, and the brother and sisters in the loss of a daughter and sister.
Relatives from a distance to attend the funeral were the mother, Mrs. S. J. Stock, of Newton, Iowa, a sister, Mrs. Clarence Hall of Iowa City, Iowa, a brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Stock, and a brother and a daughter, Martha, all of Pierpont, SD. Mrs. T. E. Vanatta, a sister, was unable to attend on account of her own sickness."
