"Newton Services Friday For L. C. Gearhart

Final rites for Lewis C. Gearhart, 62, year-old native of Roden, Germany, who died Wednesday, March 8, at his home near Metz of an asthmatic condition and heart complications, were held Friday at Morgan Funeral home.

The Rev. F. D. Boldt, pastor of the Newton First Lutheran church officiated and Mrs. Maurice Rodgers, accompanied by Mrs. R. L. Rodgers, accompanied by Mrs. R. L. Jackson, sang "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," and "Going Down the Valley." Interment was in the Sugar Grove cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jay Coffman, Drew Coffman, Herman Bunse, Henry Bunse, Fred Engle and Elmer Lind.

Lewis Charles Gearhart was born Jan. 3, 1882, one of a family of four sons and a daughter of the late Lewis and Johanna Gearhart.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and his first wife, Martha.

He is survived by his second wife, Mable; a brother, Fred, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Baty."
