Obituary-Anna Helen Johnson

Anna Helen Gibson was born Feb. 14, 1893 near Colfax to Henry and Johanna Gibson.
She spent her childhood in the Colfax community and attended school there.

In young woman hood, she married Charlie Gerhart and to this union was born two sons, Louis Charles and Clifford Earl.

After being widowed, she was married to Raymond Johnson on December 24, 1916 in Des Moines. To this union were born five children, two of whom died in infancy.

Most of her married life has been spent in and around Des Moines.
She is survived by her husband, five children, Louis Gerhart of Des Moines, Clifford Gerhart of Valeria, Raymond Johnson of Des Moines, Mrs. Marvin (Bernice) Hanson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Clarence of Des Moines. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Minnie McKeever of the Grand Hotel in Colfax and ten grandchildren plus a host of relatives and friends who will miss her warm, friendly smile.

Mrs. Johnson was a warm, helpful neighbor to everyone as well as a loving wife and mother.
Burial services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Colfax with Rev. Kenneth Nesbitt, pastor of the Mingo Methodist Church officiating.

Pallbearers were Ben Henderson, Jim Henderson, Dude Henderson, Richard Henderson, Elmer Travis, and James Travis.

Burial was in the McKeever cemetery beside her two deceased children.

We wish in this way to thank our many friends and relatives for their sympathetic understanding and thoughtfulness during our recent bereavement in the loss of our wife and mother, Mrs. Anna Johnson. A special thanks to Rev. K. E. Nesbitt.
