MILDRED TOOL, 79, of Monroe died of cancer Friday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Monroe United Methodist church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery.
Mrs. Tool lived in the Monroe area all her life and retired as the librarian at Monroe Community School. She was a member of the state and national education associations and United Methodist Woman.
Surviving are her husband, Lyle; three daughters, Bonnie Miller of Monroe, Janis Dore of Carthage, MO., and Harriet Sneller of Prairie City; a sister, Ruther Parsons of Newton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call after noon Sunday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, the Monroe City Library or Jasper County Hospice.
