JAMES CAROL TOOL 89, of Monroe died of a stroke Friday at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe with burial at Silent City Cemetery there.
Mr. Tool was born in Prairie City and had been a longtime Monroe resident. he was a farmer and a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; two sons, James of Monroe and Kenneth of Reasnor; a daughter, Doris Webber of Unionville, MO.; a brother, Lyle of Monroe; three sisters, Wanda Tool, Wilma McMasters and Geraldine Tool, all of Newton; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. No visitation is planned.

MONROE - funeral services for James Carol tool, 89, of rural Monroe were held this morning, December 12, at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.

The Reverend David Raymond, pastor of the Newton first Congregational United Church of Christ, conducted services. Burial was in silence city cemetery in Monroe.

He died Friday at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Survivors are his wife, Mabel Estella; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris Maxine and Edgar Webber, two sons and daughters in law, James Albin and Cynthia Tool and Kenneth Loren and Carmletta, all of Reasnor; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Wanda Belle Tool, Wilma Irene McMasters and Geraldine Maxine Tool, all of Newton; and a brother, Lyle Alvin Tool of Monroe.

Mr. Tool, a longtime farmer, was a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau.

The son of Alvin Silas and Myrtle Dale Kinart Tool, he was born Aug. 6, 1905 in Prairie City. He was married to Mabel Estella Wynn Aug. 15, 1932 in Kirksville, Mo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1994.
