Sparks Funeral Conducted Today
Funeral Services For Ruth Sparks Held This Afternoon at Lynnville
Lynnville, Oct. 9 – Special – Funeral services for Ruth Sparks, who died Sunday, were held this afternoon at her home in this city. Rev. Willard Reynolds, pastor of the Friends church, was in charge. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet consisting of Mrs. Frank Ratliff, Mrs. Will Allee, Charles Wagaman and Prof. A. T. Gifford with Mrs. A. F. Quire at the piano. Burial was in the Woodland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matt Trease and Von Shepherd of Newton, M. R. Burton, John Hartsock, Code Wingfield and Edgar Johnson, all of Lynnville.
Ruth Sparks, daughter of John H. and Nancy Ellen Sparks, was born on Feb. 11, 1871 at Lynnville where she spent her entire life. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Burl Miller and Mrs. Clyde Jones and the following five grandchildren, Bernice, Maxine and Bruce Miller and Raymond and Lola Bruce.
She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Lucy Daughterty of Clinton, Ia., and seven brothers, Perry Sparks of Cornduff, Canada; Richard Sparks of Minneapolis; Robert Sparks of Malcom, Ia., Guy Sparks of Los Angeles, Calif., Jerry Sparks of Kellogg and Moses and Ray, both of Lynnville.
