Colfax Woman Dies Saturday
Mrs. Rose Scott Succumbs After Five Months Of Paralysis
COLFAX – Mrs. Rose Scott, 66, wife of Bert Scott, of Colfax, died at her home Saturday morning of paralysis which had kept her helpless for the past five months.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Christian church, with the interment in the Mitchellville cemetery.
Mrs. Scott has been a lifelong resident of Colfax and was a former teacher and assistant librarian. She was very prominent in church work of the Christian church of which she was a member.
She was born Nov. 30, 1871 in Virginia and when three years old moved to Colfax. She was united in marriage March 26, 1901.
Surviving relatives include her husband, a sister, Mrs. Erma Thompson of Altoona, two half-sisters, Mrs. Virginia Miller of Durant, and Mrs. Margaret Near of Bosco?, Mont., a half-brother, Paul Welle of Davenport and a stepmother, Mrs. W. A. Welle of Colfax.
