Mrs. Tom Swan
KILLDUFF – Mrs. Tom Swan, 37, died at 7:15 o’clock Tuesday evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Compton at Killduff. Death was caused by streptococci poisoning of the blood.
Mrs. Swan took ill in Waukegan, Ill., nine weeks ago while accompanying her husband on a business trip. Returning to Killduff, she had been cared for in the home of her parents.
Born Jan. 30, 1902 at Oskaloosa, she came with her parents to Killduff while a small child. She was educated in the Killduff schools and was employed as telephone operator at both Killduff and Newton.
On June 12, 1933, she was united in marriage to Tom Swan and they made their home for some time in Lineville, Mo.
She was united with the Methodist church at the age of 12 years.
Funeral services will be held at the Killduff Methodist church Thursday at 2:30 o’clock with interment following in the Mount Zion cemetery.
