Vansice, Lorine – 1917-1984

Mrs. Arthur (Lorine) Vansice, 66, a resident of Jasper County until moving to the Marshall Care Center at Marshalltown seven years ago, died Wednesday afternoon, March 31, at the Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter.
Dr. Harold Cooper, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Jerry Stevenson, pastor of the Bethany United Church of Christ near Baxter, will conduct services.
Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Memorials may be left at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.
Survivors are her husband; three sons, Norman and Charles, both of Baxter, and John of Brooklyn; a daughter, Mrs. Bennie (Marlene) Moorman of Baxter; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Bennie Barnes of Baxter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a stepfather.
Mrs. Vansice was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, Congregational Women’s Fellowship, Friendly Neighbors Club and the ODO Club.
The daughter of Ben and Alise Tinnermeier Barnes, she was born Sept. 4, 1917 in Baxter and attended Baxter schools.
She was married Sept. 22, 1937 in Marshalltown. Following their marriage they farmed near Colfax until moving to Baxter in 1946.
