Robert A. Rabusch

ROCK CREEK - Funeral mass for Robert A. Rabusch, 46, No. 10, Juniper Ave., Kellogg, who drowned accidentally Thursday at Rock Creek Lake near Kellogg, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 1995, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. The Rev. Ernie Braida, parish priest of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery in rural Kellogg.

Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral in Newton after noon today and at the church after 6 p.m. today. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the church.

Memorials in his name will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Karen D.; a brother, John "Jack” of Burnsville, Minn.; his mother, Mildred Engle of Vermillion, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, William.

He attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton.

Mr. Rabusch was a lieutenant at Riverview Correctional Facility, south of Newton, where he was a correctional counselor. He was an avid fisherman and hunter with a deep affection for animals.

The son of John and Mildred Doohen Rabusch, he was born Aug. 5, 1948 at Sioux City, graduated from Sioux City Heelan High School in 1966 and from Westmar College in LeMars in 1970. Mr. Rabusch attended Spear Fish College in South Dakota in 1970.

He was married to Karen D. Verros Aug. 25, 1973 at the Catholic Church in Hawarden.

He was a Newton resident from 1977 to until 1990 when he moved to the Rock Creek area.
