Kathryn Korte passed away at Newton Health Care Center on September 30, 2014, at the age of 89. Kathryn Marie Holmes was the first born child born to Floyd and Nellie (Farmer) Holmes on April 27, 1925 in Galesburg, Iowa. She was raised in the Reasnor and Monroe area and was baptized in the Reasnor Methodist Church. During her life she lived in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas, moving back to Iowa in 1982. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Newton for several years. Kathryn is survived by seven children: George (Armenta) Buckingham of Des Moines, Terry (Jacque) Buckingham of Monroe, June Buckingham of Newton, Teresa Buckingham of Des Moines, Clara Buckingham Fee of Attica, Billy Buckingham of Newton, and Virgil Lee (Shirley) Glover of Des Moines; and a sister, Doris (Pete) DeMoss of Pleasantville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Edward Buckingham in 1968; two sisters, Clara Cowden in 1953 and Iona Ruckman in 2011; and a brother, Wendell Holmes in 2000. A graveside service will be held at Hewitt Cemetery, east of Reasnor, at a later date. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, 30 Sept 2014.
