James Keith Crook

James Keith Crook, 66, of 324 W. 2nd St. S., died of cancer Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at his residence.

Mass of funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton with the Rev. Philip Cardenzana, parochial vicar, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.

There will be no visitation. The Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements. Memorials in Mr. Crook's name or Hospice of Jasper County will be accepted.

The son of Lowell and Rose Ann (Clare) Crook, he was born Jan. 31, 1932 in Newton. He attended Newton schools.

He married Norma Jean Ashley June 15, 1951 in Newton.

A lifelong resident of Newton, Mr. Crook worked as a truck driver for the Rock Island Rail Road. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Julie of Newton and Tim and Karen of Waldorf. Md.; four daughters and a son-in-law, Becky and Bob Etter, Laurie Van Wyngarden and Kim Finch, all of Newton and Nancy Crook of Baxter; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard of Newton; and a sister, Myrna Hill of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
