Baxter – Elmer George Krampe, son of Henry Krampe and Helen Hager Krampe, was born near Baxter, Iowa, Dec. 2, 1885, and died at the home of his mother in Baxter, Iowa, June 17, at the age of 51 years, 6 months and 15 days.
He lived near Baxter until he was 23. His religious training was received at the German Reformed Parochial School and he was confirmed at the age of 14 years.
When he was twenty-three he took up farming near Clinton, Minn., where he remained several years. Then he moved to White River, S.D., where he continued to farm until about three years ago. About two years ago his health began to fail and he weakened until his death.
He leaves to mourn his death his mother, one brother, Wesley Krampe of Des Moines, three sisters, Mrs. Emma Brandt, Baxter, Mrs. Ella Kruse, Rockford, and Marguerite Krampe, Baxter; six nephews and three nieces. His father died January 10, 1936.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Congregational church by Rev. B. W. Northrop.
Music was furnished by Mrs. C. F. Weeks, Mrs. A. J. Dodd, with Mrs. Robert Geise at the piano. Songs used were, “The Old Rugged Cross”, Lead Me Gently Home Father” and “Nearer to Thee.”
Interment was in Restland cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Roy Reuhlman, Albert Krampe, Albert Ludaking, Dr. James McKenzie, Otis Sanderman and Robert Geise.
Flowers were in charge of Mrs. John Boyd and Mrs. Wayne Miller.
