Mingo – Clayton Lint died at Mercy hospital in Des Moines on Sunday, June 13 at 4 p.m. after a 4-week illness.
He was born March 28, 1866 and at the time of his death was 71 years of age.
He was born, raised and lived all his life in Jasper County.
He leaves his wife, Dora Berry Lint; one daughter, Mrs. Tracey Maxwell; one son, Hugh Lint; 2 grandchildren; one brother, Willie Lint of Mingo, and one sister, Mrs. Mandy Rambo of Webster, Wis. One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Mingo M. E. church where funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o’clock with Rev. Ida M. Habliston in charge. Burial at Ashton Cemetery.

Clear Creek – Funeral services for Clayton, Lint, 71, were held at Mingo Methodist church Wednesday June 23, at two o’clock.
Rev. Ida Habliston preached.
A quartet, Mrs. Howard Southern, Mrs. Marion Eubank, Eldon Geisler and Floyd Hulse sang “Jesus Savior Pilot Me” and “Abide With Me.” Mrs. Carry Hayes was pianist. She played “Lead Kindly Light.” Paul Habliston sang “The Old Rugged Cross.”
The flowers were in charge of Rosa Borts, Mrs. Floyd Signs, Mrs. D. D. Adams and Mrs. Oliver Fuller.
Burial was in the Ashton cemetery. Active pall bearers were Loyd DeReus, Joe Tiffany, Floyd Atwood, Clarence Morrison, Cecil Bittner, and Ike Kimberly. Honorary pallbearers were old neighbors, Charles Long, Ira Bittner, William P. Hay, William Morrison, Ed Carver and Stark Atwood.
Among the many from a distance were Mrs. Belle Jackson, her daughter and son, Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jackson of Des Moines, Mrs. Ellen Moore, Mrs. Milan Herwhe, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Kono of Newton; Mrs. Levi Lint and daughter of Maxwell; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Berry of Collins.
Mr. Lint died at Mercy hospital in Des Moines Sunday night, June 30, after a long illness. He lived on the farm in this township all his life except three years in Montana until he moved to Mingo in 1931.
