Robert Edward Riesberg

Funeral services for Robert Edward Riesberg, 49, of 606 S. 2nd Ave. W., will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Ernest Braida, pastor of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiating.

Cremation will follow the funeral service. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today with visitation with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials in Mr. Riesberg's name will be accepted at the funeral home.

Mr. Riesberg died of heart failure, Friday, April 18, 1997, at his home.

The son of Robert E. Sr. and Hedwig (Zielinski) Riesberg, he was born June 5, 1947, in Manhattan, N.Y. He was a graduate of a high school in the eastern district of Brooklyn, N.Y. and attended college for two years.

A resident of Newton for five years, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a restaurant manager.

Survivors include a son, Edward K. of Champaign, Ill.; daughter and son-in-law, Victoria E. and Timothy Chipman of Champaign, Ill.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Elizabeth of Troy, Mich.; a sister, Hedwig Gorski of Queens, N.Y.; and a niece Victoria Smith of Queens, N.Y.

He was preceded in death his parents.
