Margaret N. Hardman

Margaret N. Brown Hardman, 83, of the Newton Health Care Center, a resident of Newton since 1952 and former resident of Colfax died Tuesday, June 29, 1993, at Skiff Medical Center of heart failure.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Ernest Braida, parish priest, assisted by Vince Waltz, pastoral minister, will conduct services. Burial will be in Mc Keever Cemetery, north of Colfax. Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Friends my call at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 1 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials in her name will be accepted.

Survivors are a brother, Clyde W. Brown of Newton, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Joe Neibur, in 1954, a brother, Preston Brown, and a sister in infancy.

Mrs. Hardman was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pocahontas Lodge Sequoyah Council 88, Rock Creek Ikettes and the United Auto Workers, Local 997, Retirees Union. She was employed in the quality control department at the Maytag Co. for more than 21 years, retiring in 1972.

The daughter of William and Margaret Savage Brown, she was born May 29, 1910 in Colfax and attended Colfax schools.
