James Harbour

James “Bronco” Harbour, 55, of 222-½ W. 4th St. N., a lifelong resident of Newton, died of respiratory failure Saturday evening, Jan. 9, 1988, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reese Chapel. The Rev. E. William Kaska, pastor of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

A flag presentation will be given by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors are two sons, a daughter, a brother, Bill of Colorado, two sisters, Colleen Manley and Barbara Crook, both of Newton, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald.

Mr. Harbour, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, had been active for many years in the Pony Express.

A forklift operator at the Newton Foundry, Mr. Harbour had served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was born Oct. 21, 1932 in Newton.
