George Allfree, Former Newton Resident, Dies

George Allfree, 70, native of Newton, died Saturday night at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be conducted from White’s Funeral home in Des Moines Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., and burial will be in the Newton Union cemetery.

Mr. Allfree left Newton for Des Moines about 18 years ago. His wife, the former Alice Scott, is a sister of John Scott of Newton.

Surviving relatives include his wife, two sons, Loyal of Altoona and Kenneth of Des Moines, and one daughter, Mrs. Horace Clark of Milwaukee. ~ Newton Daily News, April 19, 1937, page 1.
