The following obituary was taken from the Winfield, Kansas Daily Courier, Monday, April 4,
(year not given)

Sunday funeral services for G. M. Taylor, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. L. Hart, in Winfield, Thursday, were held from the Floral church and were conducted by the Rev. Eugene A. Lower, pastor of the First Baptist church of Winfield. The Rev. Mr. Lower used as the text for his short talk, Luke 1:19. Music was furnished by the Floral quartet composed of Jake Fife, Leroy Sturm, W. O. Bender and John W. Dicken. They sang "Going down the Valley," "No Night there," and "Crossing the Bar."

The pallbearers were: Claude Hart, Boyd Land, Theodore Elliott, Yoeman Rawlings, Dave Appling and Crawford Stevens. Burial was in the Floral Cemetery. Mr. Taylor's son, Ross Taylor, of Berger, Texas, was here for the services.

G. M. Taylor was born in Monroe, Iowa, on August 29, 1874. His boyhood and young manhood days were spent in Monroe. He was married to Miss Harriette Jones on March 2, 1898, and to this union were born two children, Ross, of Borger, Texas, and Mrs. Neva Hart of Winfield. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor lived on a farm in the vicinity of Monroe, Iowa, until the year 1919, when they moved to a farm near Floral, where they lived until a year ago, when the moved to Winfield. He was a member of the Methodist church in Monroe, but since coming to Winfield has attended the Floral Baptist church.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his widow and two children, four grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. John Lorenzen of Dexter, Iowa, and Miss Rose Taylor of Monroe, Iowa.
