Donna E. Babcock
Donna E. Babcock, 75, of 201 W. 4th St. S. died of cancer Saturday, Dec. 8, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Newton with the Rev. Terry Slinde, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Congregational United Church of Christ where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials will be accepted in her name and may be left at the church or the funeral home.

The daughter of Raymond O. and Arvella McKown Bradshaw, she was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Decatur, Ill. She was a graduate of Argenta High School in Argenta, Ill., and of L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles, Calif.

On June 8, 1945, she married the Rev. Joseph L. Babcock in Decatur, Ill. She and her late husband served as pastors for 42 years of the Foursquare Church in Joliet and Rochelle, Ill., Newton, and New Castle, Ind. They also were missionaries in Nigeria, West Africa, and Lusaka, Zambia, in South Central Africa. In Nigeria, West Africa, Mrs. Babcock taught in the Bible College. She was past president of the Foursquare Woman of the Great Lakes District for six years and currently worked as an inserter at Rock Communications, Inc.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael J. and Fran of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mark O. and Diane of Newton; five grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
