June 21, 1937 - May 20, 2014

Wanda Fay DeMoss, age 76 of Altoona, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at West View Care Center in Indianola, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City, Iowa. Burial will take place at Dunreath Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Wanda DeMoss Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Marion Pearson and Vera (Wilson) Spain, Wanda was born on June 21, 1937, in Reasnor, Iowa. She graduated from Newton High School in 1955. On February 28, 1960, she was united in marriage to William Raymond DeMoss in Reasnor, Iowa.

Wanda enjoyed camping, dancing, bowling, going to Prairie Meadows; but most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her son Greg (Bill Schumacher) DeMoss of Des Moines, Iowa; two step-daughters, Diana (Rick) Terpstra of Pella, Iowa and Donna DeMoss of Keokuk, Iowa; five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris VanBaale of Missouri, and Betty Springer of Newton, Iowa; two brothers, Dale Spain of California and Jim (Judy) Spain of Newton, Iowa; a step-sister, Lyla (Ray) Williams of Fairfax, Iowa and a sister-in-law, Colleen Spain of Newton, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two sisters, a brother, a sister-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and a great granddaughter. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa.
