LaDonna "Hark" Hannah, 65, of Rock Creek Lake died Saturday, Dec. 12, at her home.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darryl Pals, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Newton, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler. Honorary bearers were Kendra Hobbs, Jason Shine, Kari Hannah, Jenna Shine, Jacob Hannah and Jamie Hannah. Burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery.

The daughter of Henry and Vila Rasmussen Harkema, she was born Feb. 23, 1933, in Alden, where she was raised and educated. She was a 1951 graduate of Alden High School. She lived in Iowa Falls and Hansell prior to moving to Kellogg in 1973. While in Kellogg, she was employed by Midwest Manufacturing. She moved to Rock Creek Lake in 1981 and was employed by Wenco of Iowa in Grinnell.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynne Shine of Rock Creek Lake; one son, Bruce Hannah, also of Rock Creek; two brothers, Harold Harkema of Austin, Texas, and Steven Harkema of Hampton; one sister, Wilma Schreure of Lemon Grove, Calif.; her mother, Vila Harkema of Iowa Falls; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Beverly Thies.

A LaDonna Hannah Memorial Fund has been established.
