Obituary
Kenneth L. Pierce, age 70 of Colfax, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax. Burial will follow at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Kenneth L. Pierce Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Melvin F. Pierce Sr. and Viola Alice (Nichol) Pierce, Kenneth was born on April 22, 1944 in Colfax. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1962. He worked at Maytag in Newton for 30+ years. He enjoyed gardening, collecting elephants feeding birds and antiques.

Those left to honor his memory include his six brothers, Mel Jr. (Karen) Pierce of Mingo, Donald (Linda) Pierce of Milo, Larry (Marjorie) Pierce of Marion, Dwight (Georgia) Pierce of Colfax, Gregory (Tonia) Pierce of Norwalk and Skylar Pierce of Colfax; a step sister, Lisa Sams of Colfax; a step brother, Larry (Brenda) Botts of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews.
