George Zwicky "the First"

George was born to Henry and Elsbeth Leuzinger Zwicky in Chicago, IL on 12 MAR 1912. The Zwicky's, consisting of Henry, Elsbeth, Jakob 6 and Barbara 4, had immigrated from Mollis, Glarus, Switzland to Chicago in 1909. In 1915, the family, then numbering six, moved from Chicago to Newton George then being three years old. The number of children in the family increased to six in January of 1920. In December of 1920 three of the children came down with whooping cough, George 8, Dorothy 3 and Fred 1 yr. Only Dorothy survived the illness. Almost four months after George and Fred died, another child was born and named George.
