Roxanna Jo Bandy, 60, of Galt died Sept. 4, 2013. She was born April 27, 1953, in Newton and moved to California with her family as a child.
While attending Richmond High School, she met Johnny Bandy, her high school sweetheart. They married on Aug. 18, 1973, and had six children. Roxanna found her calling working with developmentally disabled children as a para-educator with SCOE. She was a dedicated member of the Gateway Church in Lockeford, Calif. and volunteered her time doing charity work for Project Love.
Roxanna is survived by her husband of 40 years. Johnny Bandy Sr. of Galt, Calif.; parents, Clifford and Doris Henderson of West Des Moines; great-grandmother, Catharine Henderson of Mingo; siblings, Robin Klubbens of Vallejo, Calif., Randy and Terry Henderson of Concord, Calif., and Barry and Myra Henderson of Suisun City, Calif.; children, Melissa and Ariel Zelico of Sacramento, Calif., Tiffany and Andrew Thompson of Lodi, Calif., Kylee Bandy and Coulter Hamilton of Galt, Calif., Johnny and Suzanne Bandy of Galt, Calif., Thomas and Tiffany Bandy of Lodi, Calif., and Timothy and Chelsea Bandy of Sacramento, Calif.; 16 grandchildren, Jaden, Jewel, Kaytlyn, John-Thomas, Ethan, Logan, Jayden, Rylee, Madison, Zara, Kassidy, Ian, Faith, Dakota, Liam and Paige; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Aunts and uncles from this area include: Russell and Kay Hale of Des Moines, Ronald and Colleen Henderson of Colfax, Charles Brown of Colfax, Nora Borts of Mingo, Cora and Michael Williams of Colfax and Marilyn Henderson of Runnells.
She is preceded in death by grandson Dylan Harmon; great-grandparents, Harold E. Henderson, Warren and Angie Hale, Ray and Verble Bales; and aunts, Delores Maxine Henderson and Lavina Kay Dawson.
Roxanna was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, granddaughter, cousin, teacher and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.
