Mingo Resident Dies at 80 Years

Mrs. Charles Harrop, Member of News’ Three Quarter Century Club, Dies.

Clear Creek, June 1 – Special to the Daily News – Mrs. Charles Harrop, 80, of Mingo, member of the Newton Daily News’ Three Quarter Century Club, died at her home Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 o’clock, following a few days’ illness of heart trouble.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the home, with interment in the Greencastle Cemetery.

Mrs. Harrop was born in Wayne County, In., Nov. 4, 1852, coming from there to Jasper County when only two years of age. She was united in marriage to Charles R. Harrop at Mingo, Feb. 16, 1873, who is the only immediate surviving relative. A brother, Lincoln Baker of Mingo, died last May 6. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Thurs 1 June 1933.
